Describe and guess words online

🗣 Goal: Explain and guess terms – without saying them.

🎤 Explainer: Sees the word and gives clues. Parts of the word are off-limits!

🎯 Guesser: Types in the word. The first correct answer takes the point.

🚫 Forbidden words: Many terms come with up to six forbidden words. The explainer sees them below the secret word and must not use them — a clue that contains one literally is not sent. The guessers do not see the forbidden words.

⏭ Skip: The explainer may skip at most three words per turn – the counter is on the button, and at least 2 seconds lie between two skips.

⭐ Points: 1 point per guessed word for the guesser AND the explainer.

🔄 Rotation: Each round, every player takes a turn as the explainer.

Settings & scoring

🎺 Watcher: With the watcher switched on, the next explainer watches from 4 players on (with three too, if the host wants). They do not guess and blow the horn when a forbidden word is paraphrased or bent: the word is void, nobody scores, the next word follows.

💡 Good to know: Parts of the word are taboo too. Explainer and watcher see what the others are guessing (“close” is highlighted); the guessers do not see each other's attempts. If someone leaves the game, their turn is dropped instead of the next player explaining twice. The watcher only exists when it is switched on for the saloon.
